He
has been associated with success and service beyond
his regular medical career:
- He was

library system, and remodeled a 75,000 square
foot department store into a public library
facility.
- He staffed
the Rotary Orthopaedic Clinic for indigent children
for over thirty years and was its medical director
for over fifteen years.
- He was
the team physician for all sports for UNC Wilmington
for over twenty years and was twice honored
for it.
- He was
president of the Rotary Club of Wilmington and
has been named Rotarian of the Year.
- He was
elected chairman of the board of trustees of
an independent school with a declining enrollment.
During his tenure steps were taken to reverse
that trend. Subsequently the school has doubled
in size and enjoys a long waiting list.
- He formed
and chaired a committee to fund, facilitate,
and publish the book WILMINGTON YESTERYEAR by
historian Dr. Robert Fales.
- He initiated
and continues to lead the county medical society
committee for a premedical scholar fund (currently
holding over $100,000) at UNC Wilmington.
- He chaired
a task force that successfully funded a distinguished
professorship in orthopaedics at the UNC School
of Medicine.
- In 1990
he joined the board of directors of a mutual
savings and loan association that soon converted
to a publicly owned bank that has grown in assets
from $288 million to over $900 million
- He established,
found grant funds for, and continues to chair
the committee that sponsors the Cape Fear Visiting
Orthopaedic Professorship where outside orthopaedic
experts present lectures twice a year.
Faced
with an overwhelming number of choices to solve
medical problems and the difficulty that the orthopaedist,
the operating room staff, and the office staff
have with knowing more than a few of the multitude
of available products and services, he conceived
orthopaediclist.com.
Hundley
has a documented record of success in and out
of his profession. He is committed to www.orthopaediclist.com
and has pledged his full and energetic attention
plus his experience in orthopaedic surgery, business,
and leadership roles and a knack for picking successful
projects to make this a successful and useful
venture. He lives by two tenets: 1. If something
is useful, people will use it. 2. Only successful
projects are enjoyable, so commit only to those
likely to succeed. He believes that www.orthopaediclist.com
is successful because it is useful and user
friendly.
