The IFC cages are provided with a rectangular, not circular, cross-section. This design provides a realistic shape to that of the intervertebral disc anatomy. Surfaces adjacent to vertebral bodies are plane and further improved by notches which prevent the device from migrating from the interbody space.
Fenestration dimensions are maximized to enhance the fusion process. The implants are expandable: this results in a considerably improved primary stability of the final implant as well as in the possibility, whenever necessary, to restore the spine physiologic curvature by selecting the straight or lordotic shape of the implant.
