Adaptive Periosteal Cambiplasty

About Adaptive Periosteal Cambiplasty

The initial mechanical stimulation of healthy bone (tibia etc.) is activated by using a specially designed DIFFERENTIAL CONICAL SCREW as a "tissue expander". This procedure produces 3D overstrain, plastic deformation and natural adaptive response -- ADAPTIVE PERIOSTEAL CAMBIAN (APC) bone -- formed by direct ossification (intramembranous) without a cartilage intermediate, which is seen in healing callus formations (endochondral ossification). After 4 -- 6 weeks of stimulation APC bone overgrowth can be harvested (with a chisel or with rongeur forceps) from the bone surface, and auto -- transplanted to any part of the body where there is a requirement for osteoinduction and formation of new bone tissue.
