The VALEO pedicle system has a low-profile, top-loading, offset head whose total height is only 12.7mm. The unique screw is implanted without the polyaxial head, leaving only a 7mm sphere visible to the surgeon. This unobstructed view of the surgical site facilitates decortication around the screw shank and within the lateral borders. The top loading system can be efficiently assembled in-situ using the accompanying instrumentation, and the offset polyaxial head allows for better access to the disc space even after the construct is assembled. For cervical applications the VALEO cervical plate provides strength, flexibility and a one step locking mechanism. A unique locking mechanism allows the screw to be dynamically fixed to the vertebral body. Large through-holes aid visualization while a thin profile eases plate contouring.
