About ActiveCare+SFT® (Prod 9936)
The ActiveCare+SFT® the second generation ActiveCare was designed with the objective of changing the landscape of DVT prevention from anticoagulants drugs to this remarkable mechanical system, offering patients and surgeons optimal DVT prevention without the exposure to bleeding complications associated with the use of anticoagulants. Synchronized Flow Technology (S.F.T.) was added to the C.E.C.T. system to create a revolutionary mechanical system for DVT prevention. The ActiveCare+SFT® is revolutionary in the sense that not only does it offer the ability to provide therapy on a 24/7 basis in the acute care settings and post discharge it also delivers a unique and improved hemodynamic profile that generates higher peak venous velocity in comparison to the ActiveCare® and the SCD Express®. With the ActiveCare+SFT®, MCS has taken mechanical prophylaxis into a new realm and the ActiveCare+SFT® is currently in use in a clinical study in leading US institutions where it is compared head to head versus LMWH (Lovenox) in total hip arthroplasty. In this study the device is used not only in the acute care facility but also, post discharge for the whole duration of prophylaxis (10 days, as with the drug) as it is expected to be able to offer a truly drug free solution for DVT prevention. Daily and average compliance rates are measured and presented on the device LCD to provide the patients, care givers and physicians with a real time assessment of the patient's propensity to the treatment.
