Allowing surgeons the option of using staggered screw fixation mounted non-perpendicular to the plate, two divergent screws per hole, or the possibility of using a peg rather than a screw (allowing the use of smaller holes). The innovative serpentine plate minimizes the possibility of fracture propagation by using a staggered array of holes. [Available 2010; not yet cleared by the FDA]
