Alternative to hip resurfacing in patients who would benefit from a conservative arthroplasty, but in whom poor bone makes resurfacing unsuitable. Uncemented short stem and a large diameter metal on metal bearing identical to the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing (BHR). Short stemmed device does not violate as much of the medullary canal of the femur facilitating future revision.
