The geometry of the short Furlong Evolution stem is based on the excellent clinical results of the Furlong H-A.C prosthesis.
The cone between the proximal body of the stem and the distal stem has been designed to prevent subsidence of the prosthesis and to create hoop stressing of the cortical bone, thus providing early stable mechanical fixation.
