The Modular Joint Distractor and STaR Sleeve provide a method to apply traction to the upper extremities during open and arthroscopic shoulder procedures with the patient in the lateral decubitus position. The universal clamp allows multiple planes of adjustment for the upper boom to control abduction and forward flexion of the arm. Traction weights that control arm position are hung off the single pulley traction cable and can be adjusted away from the operative field. This distractor also easily attaches to a standard O.R. table Clark Rail to provide a secure anchoring point. The single pulley distractor may also be utilized for elbow arthroscopy in the supine position
