About VAIOS Prosthesis System (Prod 1607075)
VAIOS stands for Versatile, Anatomic, Inverse Optimised and Stable. The system allows the surgeon to make an intraoperative choice between an anatomical prosthesis and an inverse prosthesis. A modular humeral component reduces the number of prosthesis components required and makes it possible to use either an uncemented or a cemented distal stem. The system has a humeral neck with a hole for cerclage, allowing treatment of proximal fractures. It also has short and long stems. A unique design allows the surgeon to choose between anatomical and inverse TSA intraoperatively without having to change glenoid base plate or humeral stem. This reduces the operation time, and helps in bone preservation. The resection is the same for both anatomical and inverse procedures, which reduces the number of instruments required. Optimised instruments provide three instrument cases that can cover all procedures.
