Instructions
for Identifying Implants
1.
Click on "View X-Rays" above.
2.
Select a category appropriate to the implant that
you need to identify.
3.
Find a thumbnail image similar to your implant.
4.
Click on the thumbnail to enlarge it and read
more detail.
5.
Repeat #4 as often as necessary.
6.
Please submit your "known" images as
noted below to make this service more useful now
and in the future. A contribution to the
OREF
will be made in your name for each set of x-rays
accepted by OrthopaedicList.com.

for Submitting "Known" X-Rays
1.
Click on "Submit an X-Ray" above to
begin.
2.
Please submit AP & lateral views whenever
possible.
3.
This site will accept accept jpeg, bmp, and png
digital formats.
4.
Please crop out any information that could identify
a patient.
5.
The purpose of this section is to submit identified
x-rays to which your colleagues can compare their
unknowns, so please include the name of the manufacturer
and the model of the implant. Tips about
removing devices are welcomed.
6.
If you cannot get the site to accept your submission,
please remove "&" and the like from
the title of the x-ray on your hard disc.
7.
Please let us know via x-ray
e-mail that you have submitted x-rays with
the name that you wish for us to use when notifying
the OREF. You may use the same address if
you have problems submitting images.
Instructions
for Requesting Help in Identifying "Unknowns"
1.
Submit your AP & lateral digital images as
noted above.
2.
Please be certain that the category you select
is "Unknown".
3.
Please check back frequently to see if your implant
has been identified. If it has, it will
have been moved into the appropriate category
of known implants.
